Красивые квартиры №76 4 Contents Laconicism of contemporary . . . . . . . . . . 16 The customer wanted to have a light, spacious and warm interior as her previous apartment had been designed in rather cold colour scale. Having once felt a lack of cosiness, harmony and comfort, she decided to return to a classical variant — a warm tonality with various beige combinations — and to active use of wood in cherry shades. Wiping the slate clean . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 24 Prevalence of the bleached tones in that apartment decor is counterbalanced by the bright accents put by means of textiles, dark wood and mosaics. Modern decoration style is added by «ancient» decor elements: stucco moulding and chandeliers with crystal pendants. Unexpected spectacular feature of the apartment planning is merged drawing room and study. Space reconsideration. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 34 This interior looks both home-style soft, celebratory and elegant. The smart planning features a lack of overdose and allows to separate the area’s main part into a living room zone, and bedrooms — into a lateral «core». Various decoration features set up a vast number of combinations, where a common feature is following to a gentle «spring» palette with prevailing elegant beige tone. Magic transformation. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 42 That usual three-room apartment had low ceilings and a standard planning. To make it more comfortable and modern architects should visually increase a room space height and to move walls apart. Due to that approach the apartment has turned out into a spacious, cosy and harmonious one. New aesthetics . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50 The main goal of that project was to create a cosy light space for a young family with two children. The apartment is located on the uppermost, nineteenth floor of a new apartment house in Moscow suburbs. It has two levels and 4-metre windows completely of all the room space height. The second floor is a big separate area. The interior design is a successful compromise of classics and modernist style. A «fusion» style has become a result of creative process. Memoirs on «The cherry orchard» . . . . . 58 This apartment’s elegant image is based on a classical style. The habitual city comfort is joined with the charm of a natural life style — Through the windows the magnificent view to a green space could be seen. In the rooms the furniture with nut root inlaid and golden patina is used. The sensation of luxury is also added by stucco mouldings. All the most significant decorative details are highlighted by additional lighting. Unique modernist style . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 66 The apartment is designed in Russian modernist style where the most part of refined furniture items and a sophisticated decor is hand made, under author’s sketches. Here there are no repeats: each element has a slight difference from another. The French charm. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 74 Eva Lanska lives mostly in France, writes lyrics for the song she sings herself, writes criminal drama novels. Just before the new book named «The boomerang. The hope comes back» is published, «Beautiful apartments» visited Eva in her Moscow home. Courageous solutions . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 82 The ecological compatibility of our homes is especially popular and important today. Simple, nonpretentious forms and natural furniture materials form new concepts of elegance and refinement. example Teac furniture from Indonesia serves a perfect example for that. Gleb Korobov, the head of «Teac house» (interior salons’ chain) tells us about its popularity. Functional taste . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 94 The 83 square meter apartment’s owners — a young couple with a kid — were dreaming of a comfortable and functional home. This apartment was in need for an additional living room, so the necessary space should be detached from a kitchen and a wardrobe. Modern shapes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 96 The designer’s concept on a 105 square meter apartment re-planning allowed to expand functional space. It was made by merging of a spacious living room, a kitchen and a dining-room into one common zone. The important element in the general apartment concept is a smooth combination of ceiling and floor lines. Maximal lighting. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 98 Looking for an apartment, the customers choose this one because of a magnificent view through big stained-glass windows. According to the owners’ ideas, the interior is designed in black-and-white: a dark floor, a light-colored furniture together with the presence of a definite number of mirrors. Comfort dialectics . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 100 The architect should have solved an uneasy problem — to organize a living space of one-room apartment with the maximum comfort. The main requirement of the owners is creation of a convenient and functional planning so that two children — a boy and a girl — may have separate rooms. Games in oppositions . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 102 The basic idea of this project is creation of an extensive and functional public zone in this apartment, and, on the other hand, an effective interior through the game of various architectural styles. Style adventurism . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 104 In spacious three-room apartment different styles were chosen for every room space: for example, classics for a kitchen, minimalism for a study, neomodernist style for a bedroom, but a special attention was given to a living room — in this styles’ mix incompatible classics and minimalism, country and modernist style, eclecticism and fusion can be surprisingly found. Grey in interior. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 106 The 88 square meter apartment is meant to be a home for two. The customer set a problem for authors of the project: maximum of functionality and convenience, minimum of details and furniture. The main idea of that interior consists in the following: bright small elements of red and violet should be put against monochrome grey-and-white colour scale. Realizing ideas . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 108 There was no any problem with that 131,5 square meter apartment’s planning solution. The customer precisely and clearly knew, what he would like to see. The only thing to do was to sketch all his wishes and then to realize them. At re-planning the authors decided to decrease the hall area so that the merged space of a living-and-dining room and a kitchen was increased.
