Simple magic. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 26 Designing of this apartment had the motto: «Who said that designers are not magicians?» The one-bedroom apartment’s transformation into a three-bedroom apartment with a spacious living-room, a big wardrobe, a bathroom and a sauna looks like a miracle. A problem of natural lighting was solved by use of a stained-glass window inspired by Klimt’s art works. Together with the nature . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .34 Lacks of this apartment’s planning were almost vanished due to modern decorating ways such as false ceilings, niches and lighting systems. On a light background bright compositions are mounted and accessories are setting their multi-coloured accents. The nature motives are nicely interweaved with the graphics interior. City romance . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .42 The city with its constantly varying images, stone facades, silent streets and grand squares became the main design idea of this project. You may find its features in almost every room, they’re filling the space with a special sense and giving a definite expressiveness. The apartment is divided into guest and private zones by a spacious hall with the wall-mounted mosaics representing the London landscape. Colour in the city: solar mood . . . . . . . . . . .48 It is a special pleasure to be in this apartment in both the Moscow winter and rainy autumn: bright, pure interior colours provide a special energy to the room space. They are just like vitamin additives to a strict diet of a megacity inhabitant, spending most part of life in the offices. Light green shades remind of young spring foliage, wide orange surfaces — of the sunlight and exotic fruits, warm beige tone — of sandy beaches, blue and dark blue accents — of the sea and the sky. So there came an idea to have the islet of well-being in a megacity’s ocean. Despite the fact that the apartment is intended for temporal residing, the interior style features some decorative effects: together with wallpapers and fabrics with refined art deco patterns, classical and baroque elements are used such as a stucco moulding, gilding, crystal. The modern furniture reigns in the interior. Harmony of right angles . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .66 Popular young singer Olga Lozina, whose hits are aired at many Russian radio stations, is active and modern girl. And such a vigorous knowledge and sensation of the world are completely reflected in her apartment’s design where lay-out and furniture’s geometrical forms are combined with the open space opening from the windows of a new high-rise building in Kurkino. Olga has been living here for two years already and has showed a creative mood having designed many things here on her own. Purchasing an apartment in a noisy city, the owners nevertheless wished to be closer to the nature. That’s the source of a project’s colour palette — brown and beige colours with various shades. The owners are a young family, therefore the designer divided the space into functional zones: a big hall, a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, nurseries and an office. Eternal eclecticism . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .94 In this 159 sq. m two-level apartment’s interior the project’s authors managed to create a unique mix of modern traditions and various architectural styles featuring some Oriental charm. The project’s main idea was to make a simple interior, to create a noble-styled grand zone of a living room and a dining room, a functional kitchen and a cozy bedroom. Trendy junction . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .96 In this apartment’s styling the classics prevails, but the white textured brick — an attribute of modern minimalistic interiors — is used in the wall decoration. The parquetry is combined with a tile giving a definite grand style to the room space. Division into zones is highlighted with an art marble floor mosaics. A brick, mirror inserts and plaster are perfectly combined in the wall decoration. Unique fusion . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .98 The fusion-styled interior means mix of styles and fashion trends. «Fusion» is the English for «merge». The colours allow to «safely» combine different styled interior items, creating a really unique interior. This interior’s primary colours are black, white and silver. Combinations of light caramel, coffee, golden tones of furniture and decoration materials with Bordeaux wine colour of kitchen create sensation of a dessert: soft, warm and «enveloping» space. In retro style. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .104 Style, comfort and cozy atmosphere of this apartment’s interior was the main goal of the project’s authors. After re-planning the owners got a four-room apartment instead of the three-room one. British Lifestyle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 110 The lifestyle concept can have different meanings in the English language. The British style means century traditions of high-quality goods’ manufacture together with innovative design. The Trade and Investment department of Great Britain together with the British embassy presented the exhibition under the motto «British lifestyle», highlighting all sides of style of Foggy Albion.
