The characteristic design of the Siberian watchtower of the XVIII — XIX-th centuries was the design basis. The «Ataman Yermak» project significantly differs from habitual interpretations of Russian national style. Massive bars together with author’s furniture are used in its design and interior. Decorative effect and internal space dynamics are given by stainedglass windows. They are set not only in windows, but also in the ceiling chandeliers, hanging on thick metal chains, and also in highlighted walls moldings. Original vision of traditions . . . . .130 Despite the fact that the old log house interior has a modern spirit, many antiquarian items, belonging to a traditional Latvian regions’ rural life, are also presented here. The «Gungas» complex, consisting of several reconstructed ancient houses, is located in a picturesque place nearby to Riga, and one of its design’s brightest details is a steel horse wagon wheels. They could be found in fencings design, making it not only unusual, but also graceful. The «Mirror» bath. . . . . . . . . . . .134 Designer was to create interesting space without numerous details overdose; to do without unnecessary decoration, however to achieve an impression of decor expressiveness. The special lighting scenario was thought up to realize that idea. Different light sources play their roles in combination with decoration materials.
